Find a Question:
What happens to the previous model year left over new cars once the new cars come out?

I have a car question – what happens to new cars not sold? Example: On January 1st 2004, what happens to all the unsold 2003’s?
Do they become used cars? I imagine if they’re for sale – they’re cheaper because they’re out of date. I’d be interested in buying a year or two old car with zero miles on it, get it a bit cheaper because it’s a bit older?
Do you know anyone who sells them, or how I could get one?

they sell for cheaper, but it’s not very likely that there will be much if any left over, dealers have to pay taxes on any car on the lot as of Jan. 1 of the new year, on the bright side if you’re looking for last year’s model and they no longer have them on the lot you can get a current year model for cheaper.
