Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer recently signed into law the nation’s toughest illegal immigration enforcement bill, requiring local police officers to make a reasonable attempt to determine the immigration status of those suspected of being illegal immigrants. Immigrant rights activists, on the other hand, argue for a path to citizenship. With the future of 12 million undocumented immigrants hanging in the balance, should these residents be granted citizenship?
